Ty Anderson: David Backes clearly disagrees with suspension

Is this guy delusional? The suspension has nothing to do with his career. That was a super late hit to the head. That deserves a three game suspension even though Backes is not a dirty player -he made a dirty play.

I wonder if he was trying to say "Come on NHL, it's not like I'm some a-hole every game he has no respect for the other players like Brad."

God damn. You arm chair police officers are god damn relentless with unnecessary suspensions. 10 games. 10 games is Duncan Keith trying to decapitate someone with his stick. Most of the "headshots" are unfortunately never going to end unless you put a speed limit on the game.

I haven't seen the whole clip so i don't know when Nielsen touched the puck but to me Backes is trying to get out of the way but has too much speed and he clips him. Its his fault and should just be a penalty. Maybe a fine, but the intent is not there IMO.

I would give Ristolainen on Buffalo 10 if he did something similar.

The players are clearly never going to stop with the toothless suspensions that go on now.

On the bold above, I actually believe speeding up the game and calling all penalties, like they did post the last lockout, would make it more difficult to administer the cheap shot hits.

Should have thrown the book at him. 10-15 games for that garbage.
